Neonatologist (Charlotte)

Position Details:

Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital is currently seeking a Neonatologist to join their regional team of 23 established neonatologists.  This is a clinically focused, teaching position will be based at Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH). The Level IV, 85 bed NICU, serves more than 1,100 admissions annually and is the referral center for the entire region.  All  subspecialty newborn care services are active with 6 in the USNWR top 50 for 2017.  Neonatologists manage a busy service that includes ECMO, hypothermia Rx for HIE and preop care for congenital heart disease.  In house call is shared with 11 other LCH based Neonatologists.  LCH has a highly regarded pediatric residency with 36 residents who rotate through the NICU.  A highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team shares care on all the services, round the clock, with the Neonatologists.

At 236 beds, Atrium Health - Levine Children’s Hospital is the most comprehensive children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington, DC. Serving high patient acuity as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health, and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 25 different pediatric specialties. The hospital has 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a 20-bed PICU (including cardiac ICU), an 85-bed NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility. LCH hosts a premier Pediatrics Residency Program, serves as a teaching hospital for students of the UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and offers excellent support for clinical research and quality improvement. LCH has repeatedly been ranked among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation by U. S. News & World Report, most recently in six pediatric specialties for 2018-2019 including Cancer, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Nephrology which was ranked #20 in the nation. Carolinas Medical Center along with LCH has earned Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Magnet program recognizes health-care organizations for their focus on improving patient care, safety and satisfaction. It also helps foster a collaborative culture for nurses, while working to advance standards and practices of care.
