Interventional & Structural Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute | Charlotte

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Position Details:

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute’s Interventional Heart Program is seeking a Full time, predominately Outpatient, Cardiology NP or PA to provide quality care to the patients we serve in the Charlotte community. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be part of a growing team of specialized Cardiology Physicians and APPs. 

This role will be an integral component of a high functioning multidisciplinary team of providers including cardiology APPs, interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and imaging cardiologists. The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of patients with chronic disease, pre- and post-management of patients undergoing catheter-based interventions and who have underlying valvular heart disease, heart failure, and/or coronary artery disease  predominately in the office setting with some duties seeing patients in the Same Day Cath hospital setting.  Additional duties may include assessing and evaluating pre-procedural new and established patients scheduled for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

The tentative works schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 1st shift hours. No call, no weekends. This position is eligible for the annual Performance Incentive Bonus and CME allowance. Teaching opportunities with students and/or APP Fellows are also available, but not required for the position. +1 years of cardiology experience highly preferred for this role.

Position Qualifications:

Must be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North and South Carolina. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in North and South Carolina. Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.

Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP, AGACNP certification preferred based on population served. Acute care trained and certified

Physician Assistant Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
